Windows 11 users enrolled in the Windows Insider program will have the opportunity to explore the new Microsoft Store feature – a tab dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) based applications. This announcement was made by Microsoft at the Build conference in May, where they also showcased automatically generated resume reviews for applications. Currently, these resumes are not yet available in the Microsoft Store. However, they will be situated alongside the application rating, offering a brief overview of user opinions.
The AI applications tab will be positioned on the left side of the Microsoft Store, just below the films and TV section. The specific applications that will be featured in this tab remain unknown until the preliminary version of Windows 11 is released. Nonetheless, based on a shared image from Microsoft, it can be speculated that an AI-powered image editing application such as Luminar Neo may be included along with other tools.
In addition to the AI applications tab, the Microsoft Store will introduce a new price tracking function. This feature will display the price fluctuations of applications over the past 30 days. It aims to assist users in making informed decisions, helping them decide whether to purchase immediately or wait for a potential discount. Other upcoming updates include the long-awaited addition of 3D emojis, which Microsoft originally promised two years ago. Furthermore, Microsoft will resolve the error that prevented the installation of drivers for Zune players.
According to Microsoft, Windows Insider participants across all channels with version 22306.1401.x.x of Microsoft Store will gain access to the AI applications tab and price tracking function. However, there is currently no information available regarding the specific release date for these functions to be available to all users.
