Linux Displacements Reach 3%, Chrome OS at 4%: STATCOUNTER

According to data from Statcounter, Linux distributions have exceeded 3% in global desktop usage for the first time. The share of Linux on desktops has shown a steady increase, with January at 2.91%, February at 2.94%, March at 2.85%, April at 2.83%, May at 2.70%, and June at 3.08%. Additionally, the share of the Chrome operating system, which is based on the Linux core, has also increased to 4.15% in June. Taking this into account, the total share of desktop Linux systems has reached 7.23%. The share of FreeBSD is estimated to be 0.01%. These statistics are collected from a meter posted on 1.5 million sites.
