Israeli Clinic Faces 10M Shekel Ransom for Data

News Report: Hackers Threaten to Release Stolen Files on Netanyahu and Other Famous Patients

The cyberattack targeting the Mayane Hospital in Bnei Brak, Israel, has taken a political turn as hackers threaten to release stolen files related to the treatment of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, deputies of the Knesset, Rabbins, and other famous representatives of the Charedm community. The hackers, known as Group Ranger Locker, have demanded a large sum of money, warning that failure to comply will result in the secret information being posted on the network.

The leak occurred in early August during the cyberattack on the hospital, according to a statement released by Mayane A-Yeshua. The consequences of the attack were described as serious, however, specialists are still studying the full extent of the breach.

The hospital administration has made it clear that they will not negotiate with the hackers. The statement from Mayane A-Yeshua emphasized that the attack was motivated and the hospital remains committed to ensuring the privacy and security of its patients’ information.

While the exact amount of the ransom has not been disclosed, it is believed to be in the range of tens of millions of shekels. The hackers, who claim to have hundreds of thousands of stolen files, particularly highlighted the sensitive information they possess about patients in the psychiatric department.

Ranger Locker is not affiliated with any organizations or states and their origins remain unknown.
