Google introduced an updated set of security tools for its cloud service Workspace. The tools aim to counteract phishing and unauthorized access to user accounts.
One of the main innovations is multifactor authentication for individuals attempting to change important security settings. When adjusting system parameters, administrators will now require confirmation from another administrator, making it more difficult for attackers to compromise accounts with expanded rights.
For regular users, Workspace will also be strengthened with protective measures. Artificial intelligence models will automatically detect and block suspicious activity, preventing targeted attacks at an early stage and minimizing the potential consequences. Google highlights that all possible scenarios and types of threats have been taken into account during development.
In addition, Google has simplified the transfer of activity logs from Workspace to the dedicated storage of Chronicle. Chronicle, a cloud service for analyzing information security events developed by Google, operates based on the principle of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems. This enhancement will significantly reduce the time required for incident investigations.
Currently, only some features are available in test mode, with a full launch expected in the coming months.
