The release of the distribution Kali Linux 2023.3 has been announced. Kali Linux is a Debian-based operating system designed for vulnerability testing, system auditing, analyzing residual information, and identifying the consequences of attackers.
All original developments created as part of the distribution are distributed under the GPL license and are available through the public GIT-Rooster.
Multiple options for ISO-images are available for download, including sizes of 468 MB, 2.9 GB, and 3.7 GB. The assemblies are available for architectures i386, X86_64, ARM (ARMHF and ARMEL, RASPBERRY PI, Banana Pi, ARM Chromebook, Odroid). By default, the XFCE desktop is offered, but KDE, GNOME, MATE, LXDE, and Enlightenment E17 are optionally supported.
Kali Linux includes one of the most comprehensive collections of tools for computer security specialists. It provides tools and programs for testing web applications, penetrating wireless networks, and reading data from identification RFID chips. The kit also includes a collection of exploits and over 300 specialized utilities for security checking, such as Aircrack, Maltego, Saint, Kismet, Bluebugger, BTCRACK, BTSCANNER, NMAP, and P0F. This distribution also includes tools for password acceleration (Multihash Cuda Brute Forcer) and WPA key acceleration (Pyrit) through the use of CUDA and AMD Stream technologies, allowing the utilization of NVIDIA and AMD GPUs for computing operations.
The new issue introduces the following:
- The Kali Autopilot instrumentation, which allows users to simulate attack actions for testing and evaluating the effectiveness of various security tools. Kali Autopilot provides a graphic interface, an automatic execution service for test attacks, a collection of scripts for simulating attacks, and Web APIs for remotely managing the execution stages of attacking scripts.
