BitWarden Secrets Manager Ends Leaks

BitWarden Launches New Product – Secrets Manager

BitWarden announced the launch of their latest product – Secrets Manager. This new offering is aimed at IT specialists, teams of developers, and industry DevOps professionals, providing them with a secure solution for managing and encrypting secrets.

Secrets Manager addresses the common industry problem of leakage of sensitive information, such as APIs, user authentication certificates, database passwords, SSL and TLS certificates, encryption keys, and SSH-keys. These secrets can be compromised due to cyber attacks or inadequate security practices during the development process.

The key features of Secrets Manager include powerful solutions for preventing leaks of confidential information, a simple and secure way of receiving and transmitting secrets within development teams, and support for access permissions for individual users or groups. The open source nature of the tool ensures transparency and allows for customization according to specific needs.

The tool is available in three subscription options. The free version includes unlimited secret storage, support for two users, three projects, and three service accounts.

The “Teams” and “Enterprise” options are priced at $6 and $12 per month respectively, and offer additional features such as FIDO2 authentication support, automatic account creation, integration with SSO, and enhanced administrative capabilities.

Currently, Secrets Manager is integrated with Github Actions, but future versions are expected to support Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible. There are also plans to expand support for additional programming languages and improve the access control system.
