This week, one of the employees of Microsoft disclosed a very useful life hack when working with Windows.
Many users of the popular desktop system have likely noticed that when sorting processes in the computer control dispatcher, the processes “jump” every second, making it difficult to analyze the information.
After many years of using Windows, it has been discovered that if you press and hold the CTRL key on the keyboard, the task manager literally “pauses,” and all the processes in it will “freeze” until the button is released. This is very convenient if any annoying, system-loading process is constantly “running away” and preventing its completion.
While it is possible to control the speed of updating indicators in the task dispatcher settings, it is not as convenient as simply stopping the list of processes in the moment. Additionally, another benefit is that the speed of updating indicators can now be set to “high” to receive the most accurate results while effectively suspending processes if necessary.
Therefore, even after years of using such a popular and widely-used product like Windows, there are still new discoveries to be made. This trick has been tested and works reliably in Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11. However, it would be amusing if the function is implemented in earlier versions of the system.
