Yesterday, August 15, in Ireland occurred a mass failure in the work of the banking system, causing chaos and long queues at ATMs.

According to sources, due to technical error, customers of the Bank of Ireland were able to withdraw up to 1000 euros from the zero balance sheet. On social networks, photos of huge queues of ATMs quickly appeared in cities such as Dublin, Limerick, and Dankolk.

In order to prevent theft, law enforcement agencies were forced to take under the protection of some offices of the Ireland Bank, and the bank itself warned that all illegal withdrawals would be recorded and subsequently written off from customers, even if it leads to the care of minus.

“Despite the fact that customers temporarily cannot check the balance, they should not withdraw funds if it leads to overdraft,” the media quote the bank representatives.

It was reported that a similar problem was observed in the mobile banking application – the application made it possible to transfer up to 500 euros to Revolut Bank from any accounts in the Bank of Ireland, even in the absence of funds on them.

The police reminded citizens about their personal responsibility for banking operations, while the specialists of the Ireland Bank had to turn off their online services and the mobile application to eliminate the problem.

Today, the correct work of all systems was restored, and satisfied with the fact that they deceived fate, customers – in the moment they lost their pot of gold.
