Xiaomi has unveiled the second generation of its Cyberdog robot, which boasts a completely redesigned design. With its new appearance, the robot now closely resembles a real dog and offers improved mobility. Not only that, but the latest version of Robosobak has also learned how to recognize its owner and control a smart home.
Weighing 8.9 kilograms and standing at a height of 36.7 centimeters, the Cyberdog 2 robot is equipped with various features. It can move at a speed of up to 1.6 m/s and comes with an ultrasonic sensor, Lidar, TOF camera, AI-camera, and four microphones. What’s more, this new version of the robot can even recognize its owner’s face.
Cyberdog 2 is powered by 12 Cybergear engines, which enable it to engage in various actions such as running, performing backflips, sitting, and even offering a friendly paw. Additionally, the robot has a touch screen on its muzzle that displays important information about its status. Voice commands and gestures are used to control the robot, which can also seamlessly integrate with a smart home system.
Thanks to its neural networks, the robot has the ability to analyze users’ moods and learn new commands. It also possesses the capability to respond to its environment. During the presentation, Xiaomi announced that the Cyberdog 2’s source code will be open, allowing users to modify the firmware according to their preferences.
However, it’s worth noting that Cyberdog 2 will only be available for purchase in China. Interested customers can acquire this innovative robot for 13 thousand yuan, while the first generation Robosobak, introduced in 2021, was priced at 10 thousand yuan.
