News Report: Cult of the Dead Corre Announces Decentralized Platform Veilid for Anonymous Communication
Last week, the renowned hacker association known as the “Cult of the Dead Corre” unveiled their latest creation at the Def Cons hacker conference in Las Vegas. This platform, called Veilid, fulfills their promise of providing a decentralized system for anonymous communication on the Internet. Veilid’s official website can be found at veilid.com.
During their presentation at the conference, the developers of Veilid described the platform as an open project that enables direct exchange of information between users in a decentralized manner. This means that various applications, including mobile, desktop, web, and interface applications, can connect with each other on the internet and communicate privately and securely. By bypassing centralized corporate systems, Veilid offers a platform for applications to unite in a thriving community. The launch slides of Veilid can be accessed here.
The members of the Cult of the Dead Corre have dedicated three years to the development of Veilid. The system is predominantly built using Rust, with elements of Dart and Python. Veilid combines the key features of an anonymous network, akin to Tor. Tor, often regarded as a prominent anonymous network, facilitates encrypted data transfer and is primarily programmed in C, C++, and Python.
