Vcmi 1.3.0 Release: Improvements and New Features
Available in the latest issue of the project
Vcmi 1.3, a new release of the open game engine compatible with the data format used in Heroes of Might and Magic III. The project aims to not only provide compatibility but also support mods that allow for the addition of new cities, heroes, monsters, artifacts, and spells to the game. The initial texts
are distributed under the GPLV2 license. The project is supported on Linux, Windows, MacOS, and Android operating systems.
In the latest version, the following improvements and new features have been introduced:
- Support for changing the size of the user interface without leaving the game. It is now possible to smoothly scale the map.
- Enhancements to support touch screens in the mobile assembly. Support for screen gestures (shift and shield) and a tactile feedback effect have been added. The radial army management menu has also been implemented.
- The random map generator has been significantly improved. All options from the
Shadow of Death
expansion, as well as some additional settings, have been implemented. - Improvements to the artificial intelligence engine, addressing several flaws and weaknesses.
- Compatibility with various game companies has been restored to a working condition.
- Added the ability to download and open maps in the
/Reports, release notes, official announcements.
