Online Biblioteka Z-Library has recently opened 11 physical distribution points around the world, with the main goal of expanding its library in the physical world and facilitating the exchange of books. These distribution points, known as Z-Points, are located in various countries across every inhabited continent, including the USA, China, and South Sudan. The initiative aims to help users exchange physical copies of books and create a collection of paper books.
Z-Library, which is known to be one of the largest shadow libraries on the Internet with over 14 million digital books in its archive, continues to operate despite the arrest of its two alleged operators. The site has introduced several new functions in recent months, some of which are focused on reducing the effectiveness of law enforcement, while others aim to improve user service.
At present, users can send books they no longer use to Z-Points for further processing. The libraries are limited to 11 countries, and Z-Library plans to add an interface in the future where users can list their paper books to facilitate direct exchanges among users. While the idea of book exchange projects is not unique, Z-Library remains convinced of the correctness of its actions despite legal concerns. Free libraries that collect and distribute books in local communities already exist in numerous countries.
