Google Chrome Enhances Privacy with New Tracking Protection Feature
Google has announced a new protection system for the Chrome browser aimed at monitoring tracks that monitor the user’s activity on third-party sites. Users will be able to activate the function to enhance their confidentiality.
In the next CHROME Canary update, a function called “Tracking Protection” will appear. Although there are already tools for blocking and monitoring malicious files and trackers in the browser, Google plans to combine them in one place. How they will work together is still unknown.
In closed resources, this project has already been called 3PCD. According to available information, the company actively develops additional mechanisms for protecting and tracking third-party cookies.
A new page of security protection in Chrome Canary
In the updated version of Chrome, users will be able to configure the level of protection on a specialized page. Despite the incomplete testing, it is known about three modes:
- “Standard”: designed for complex protection and proper operation of all websites without restrictions. Cookie blocking is carried out in a light mode, and the majority of the user’s data remains available.
- “User”: provides the possibility of individual regulation of levels for checking and blocking cookies, which can affect the performance of some sites (some of the sites will not work, and others can be shown with restrictions).
- “Do not track”: it provides full access to the user’s information, search queries, and uploaded data.
“Tracking Protection” is not the only improvement in confidentiality for Chrome users. Google also plans to add a more private incognito regime to the browser in the coming weeks. Learn more
