The operating system has been updated. The new version is called Novy 10.2 and is built on the 10 ALT platform (branch P10 Aronia) for the Architecture X86_64. It is included in the unified register of Russian programs and databases. This operating system is suitable for both office and home use. It can also be integrated into the Active Directory infrastructure, providing authentication in the domain, access to file resources, and print resources.
The loaded version of the operating system is free for individuals and individual entrepreneurs. Commercial and state organizations can download and test the distribution. However, legal entities intending to use the operating system in their corporate infrastructure on a permanent basis must purchase licenses or enter into licensed agreements in writing.
The Novy 10.2 version of the operating system introduces several new features:
- Support for biometric authentication through fingerprint, if the necessary technical capabilities are available.
- The ability to join the system installer via VNC.
- Launching the Plasma user session through Systemd as the default option.
- The addition of the Libnss-Role roles module, which allows for better control over groups of users through categories of roles and privileges.
- The use of BTRFS as the default file system for installation.
- Automatic creation of a recovery point after system installation.
- New special features in the distribution include a speech synthesizer, screen testing, and a service processing service. The default setting for screen reading with Orca requires activation.
