In a bid to keep up with the ever-evolving technology and growing threats, the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation has announced its plans to revise industry and professional standards for the training of cybersecurity specialists, according to the head of the ministry, Maksut Shadaev.
Speaking on the matter, Shadaev expressed the importance of giving more attention to the training of experts in the field of cybersecurity. He emphasized that the current industry and professional standards for this field need to be reviewed and updated in order to align with the latest technological advancements and the emerging threats that come with them.
The minister further emphasized that cybersecurity is an incredibly popular specialty within the IT industry, with a high demand for skilled professionals. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure that these specialists are efficiently prepared to meet the industry’s requirements. Consequently, efforts are underway to update the standards accordingly.
As part of the ongoing discussions surrounding cybersecurity education, the University of MIREA has proposed the establishment of “Cyber Reading Schools” tailored towards students. This initiative aims to equip graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to secure guaranteed employment opportunities in some of the country’s leading cybersecurity companies. The proposal is currently being evaluated by the Ministry of Construction.
