Systemic Monitoring Utility TTOP 1.2 Released

Release of ttop 1.2 – Interactive Process Monitoring Utility

The utility ttop 1.2 has been released, providing users with an interactive way to monitor processes in a similar style to the TOP program. One remarkable feature of ttop 1.2 is the ability to view the past state of processes using stored historical data. This allows users to evaluate the state of processes at specific moments, such as during peak load periods.

The ttop utility is written in NIM and is distributed under the MIT license. Ready-made packages are available for Arch Linux through the AUR, with installation possible through the “yay -s ttop” command.

Main Changes:

  • The interface now reflects the launch in Docker.
  • In the search filter (activated with the “/” button), users can now search for special markers such as @u (search by user U) and #D (search by container D), as well as conduct independent searches by separate words.
  • Errors associated with the display have been fixed, and the color scheme has been changed.
  • The size of the static assembly has been reduced to 811kb.

One of the useful features inherited from previous versions is the ability to trigger warnings about the state of the system. For example, users can receive this information in Telegram:

/Reports, release notes, official announcements.
