Linux 6.6 includes unconditional loading of X86 microcode

In the latest update of Linux 6.6, changes have been introduced that remove the option to enable processor microcode loading in Kconfig. Now, the loading of the microcode for X86 systems is turned on by default.

This modification is made in the context of the code for loading the processor microcode. It is explained by the fact that in most cases, this option is activated when building the kernel for “almost all systems with naked iron.” However, it should be noted that the unconditional inclusion of microcode loading may face opposition from individuals and organizations such as GNU Linux-Libre, who are against this practice.
