Mihoyo Announces Virtual Hunt: Genshin Impact Hackers Face Court

Mihoyo, the developer of the popular game Genshin Impact, has responded to recent mass hacks that have caused concern among players. The company has promised to take legal action against those responsible for the so-called “kaveh-hacks”.

In recent weeks, users of the game have been complaining about attackers who have been using a malicious exploit called “Kaveh” during joint gameplay. This exploit permanently removes important elements from the game world, which are crucial for completing side tasks and exploring the world. As a result, players are unable to progress in the game and lose interest, risking a “broken” profile.

Following these complaints, representatives of Mihoyo commented on the situation on their official Twitter account. The developers acknowledged the problem and have already fixed it for all affected players.

Mihoyo has announced that it plans to sue the individuals responsible for creating, using, or distributing tools associated with the Kaveh bug. The company accuses these people of violating the game’s terms of service and legislation.

Using hacks and cheats in the game is a clear violation of the terms of service, and if it involves modifying proprietary gaming code and resources, it can also be seen as a copyright infringement. In certain jurisdictions, hacking gaming servers and exploiting vulnerabilities can be considered illegal under computer fraud and abuse laws.

“The use of plugins to remove objects from the game world seriously impacts the gameplay experience of other players. To ensure a fair and honest game and protect the rights of players, we have taken action against accounts using such plugins and will pursue legal measures against the developers, users, and distributors,” said representatives of Mihoyo.

Mihoyo also confirms that the developers and users of the plugin are sharing content in the community and on video sites, pretending to be victims in order to further confuse the public and create panic.
