Leaseweb Cloud Hosting Falls Under Hackers’ Onslaught

Leaseweb cloud provider recently informed about the hacking of its systems. Attackers gained unauthorized access to the portal on August 22. The internal infrastructure was affected, leading the company to suspend its services indefinitely.

The client portal was unavailable for some time. LEASEWEB immediately notified users via email about the incident and began restoring its systems.

To investigate the breach, a third-party digital forensics company was engaged.

As of now, there is no information regarding the identity of the attackers or their motives. The company’s leadership has not reported any further malicious activity within its systems. No leaks or ransom demands have been reported either.

Experts have confirmed that the portal is fully restored and all systems are functioning normally.

Leaseweb, founded in the Netherlands in 1997, operates an extensive network of 26 data centers across Europe, Asia, North America, and Oceania.

Cloud service users are advised to remain vigilant and take measures to protect their data, including using multifactor authentication.

Although Leaseweb responded promptly to the incident, it remains unclear whether the threat has been completely neutralized. The investigation is ongoing.
