Chrome browser users can now watch YouTube ads in accelerated mode. To do this, you need to establish an extension that independent developers created. Both extensions are available in the Chrome online store.
The first extension created by the developer under the nickname Hackhive is called AD Speedup. It automatically recognizes the commercials on YouTube and accelerates them by 16 times, reducing their duration to several seconds. In addition, it turns off the sound in advertising and with the nearest update will automatically press the “Pass” button. The extension is compatible with the EDGE browser and so far works only with YouTube, but in the future it is planned to support other video platforms.
The second extension is called ad access. It was published a few days before the release of AD Speedup.
Recently, Reddit users shared information that Google has made changes that lead to a slowdown in video download on the popular YouTube video hosting when advertising blockers are activated.
First, the problem was revealed by the Firefox browser. Firefox YouTube began to load much slower than in Chrome, with a delay of 5 seconds.
The reason for the delay is the use of Google of a special JavaScript code that adds a 5-second slowdown before loading the YouTube page.
Similar problems also arose in other browsers such as Edge, Brave and even Chrome if the advertising blocker is installed.
