The start of the AIXCC two -year competition, organized by the Agency for promising defense research projects of the United States (DARPA), was postponed until December 11. The goal of AIXCC participants is to create a new generation of cybersecurity tools that combine achievements in the field of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence to protect the critical US infrastructure.
Perry Adams, project manager, announced about changing the graphics on Wednesday, stating that the delayed launch will provide more technical details and AIXCC updates. The new event is expected by a “number of updates”, including details about the evaluation system, as well as the participation of companies such as Anthropic, Google, Microsoft and Openai, providing their advanced technologies for the competition participants.
In addition to the open set, the DARPA will finance the participation of up to seven small enterprises as part of the program of the U.S. Government of the Small Business (SBIR) program. Applications for participation in the open set will be accepted until April 30.
The best 20 teams will go to semifinals, where five of them will receive $ 2 million. Three finalists will receive prizes in the amount of 1.5, 3 and 4 million dollars, respectively.
AI Cyber Challenge contest was created to increase the stability of critical infrastructure, a sector that, according to Darpa, seriously needs mechanisms that can ensure the safety of systems on a scale.
