New Documentary on Developing EBPF Nucleus Subsystem

Speakesy Production Studio Releases Documentary on EBPF: Unlocking the Kernel

Speakesy Production studio took off and published in the open access documentary “ebpf: unlocking the kernel“, telling the history of the EBPF subsystem in the Linux nucleus.

EBPF, short for Extended Berkeley Packet Filter, provides an interpreter of byte code with a just-in-time (JIT) interpreter. This feature allows for modifying the behavior of the system without changing the kernel code, effectively enabling the addition of handlers without complicating the system itself.

EBPF has various applications, including creating network operations, managing throughput, controlling access, monitoring system operations, and performing tracing.
