Fedora Linux 39 has been officially released by the distribution. The latest version offers various products, such as Fedora Workstation, Fedora Server, Fedora CoreOS, Fedora Cloud Base, Fedora IoT Edition, and live-assembly. These products are available for download on the Fedora website.
The new release includes different desktop-rings options, such as KDE Plasma 5, XFCE, Mate, Cinnamon, Lxde, Phosh, Lxqt, Budgie, and Sway. These options cater to a wide range of user preferences. The assemblies are designed for three main architectures, namely X86_64, Power64, and ARM64 (AARCH64).
However, the release of Fedora Silverblue has been delayed for the time being.
The release of Fedora Linux 39 brings several significant changes:
- The desktop in Fedora Workstation has been updated to incorporate features from the upcoming GNOME 45 release. This includes a dynamic indicator of virtual desktops in the panel and improved performance of the search system. Additionally, the video viewer and camera viewer applications have been replaced, along with changes to the style of displaying side panels. The GTK 4.12 and Libadwaita 1.4 libraries have also been updated.
- In the team interpreter, the default command line now includes color decoration, providing a more visually appealing experience.
