Static Linux Distribution Collected as Image for UEFI

The distribution of the Static Linux is now available to the public. This new distribution is built on the ALPINE Linux package base, offering the Linux 6.1.60 kernel, the standard MUSL library, and the BusyBox toolkit. It also features a graphic environment using the Labwc composite server with Wayland as its foundation.

This distribution includes various software applications such as:

  • corefm – a file manager
  • Coreimage – an image viewer
  • corepad – a text editor
  • CORETERMINAL – a terminal emulator
  • MPV – a video player

The bundled software also includes data recovery utilities such as DDRESCUE, Testdisk, and Photorec.

In order to make it more convenient for users, the core and root file systems have been merged into a single file. This allows for easier launching on systems with UEFI. However, it is important to note that Secure Boot is not supported by Static Linux.

To install Static Linux, users simply need to upload the BootX64.EFI file (version 84) and place it in the /EFI/Boot/ directory on a disk formatted with FAT32 file system.

Currently, the distribution contains 267 statically collected packages. However, there are plans to increase this number in the future.
