The American company Ace Hardware is currently conducting an investigation into a cyber security incident that occurred over the weekend, resulting in a disruption to deliveries.
Ace Hardware has stated that several key operating systems were affected by the incident, including Acenet (the company’s supplier catalog), warehouse management systems, the account setup portal, and customer service center phone lines. As a result, these systems were either interrupted or suspended.
In a notification for suppliers, ACE confirmed that no deliveries were made to stores on October 30th and 31st. The company also mentioned that the impact on point-of-sale (POS) systems and credit card processing is currently unknown. Despite the incident, ACE stores have been advised to remain operational.
While Acehardware.com is still accessible for customers to browse and view products, the company has temporarily disabled the ordering function. This measure has been taken to prevent any potential decline in the quality of consumer service due to the inability to transfer orders to retail sellers. ACE is actively investigating the incident and working on restoring its systems and operations.
