Scientists Achieve Teleportation: Embodiment of Star Path Dream

A group of researchers announced a successful demonstration of teleportation of images by quantum transmission, in which the information is physically not transmitted between the sender and the recipient. This breakthrough, compared with the teleportation from the world of the Star Way, is the first step to create a quantum network for states with a high degree of confusion.

Professor Andrew Forbes from the University of Witts, a leading researcher, noted: “Traditionally, two parties physically send information to each other, even in the quantum world. Now, the information is possible in such a way that it never moves physically in terms of connection – this is a technology from “Star Way”, which has become reality.”

Researchers used the optics of lasers, allowing them to transmit information without physical forwarding. The key to their breakthrough published in the journal Nature Communications consists in the use of a non-linear optical detector, which requires additional confusing photons.

The team also mentioned that their approach includes up to fifteen data measurements and can be scaled for even more measurements, “laying the way for creating quantum network connections with high information capacity.”

However, this technique has its drawbacks. For example, it is potentially possible to create a clone of initial information. Dr. Adam Valles from ICFO (Barcelona), one of the project managers, warns: “We must be careful, since this configuration cannot prevent the creation of accurate copies of the information by the sender, which in the world of the Star Tree could lead to the appearance of many clones of Mr. Spock, if Scotti wanted to.”

Nevertheless, Valles emphasizes that their current configuration can already be used to create a safe channel of quantum communication between two parties. Researchers believe that their method is the closest to realizing the ever-visible technology of teleportation from the world of science fiction. With an improvement in their design, teleportation of entire images or even people can become a reality.
