Mozilla published its financial report for 2022. In 2022, Mozilla’s income decreased by $7 million and amounted to $593 million. For comparison, in 2021, Mozilla earned $600 million, in 2020 – $496 million, in 2019 – $828 million, in 2018 – $450 million, in 2017 – $562 million, in 2016 – $520 million, in 2015 – $421 million, in 2014 – $329 million, in 2013 – $314 million, and in 2012 – $311 million.
Out of the $593 million, $510 million were obtained through deductions for the use of search engines (such as Google, Baidu, Duckduckgo, Yahoo, Bing, Yandex), cooperation with various services (Cliqz, Amazon, Ebay), and placing contextual advertising blocks on the start page. In 2021, the size of such deductions amounted to $527 million, in 2020 – $441 million, in 2019 – $451 million, in 2018 – $429 million, and in 2017 – $539 million. According to unofficial estimates, the downtime with Google amounts to about $400 million per year for search traffic transfer.
