Basalt SPO company has recently announced the release of Simply Linux 10.2, a distribution built on the 10th platform Alt. With a simple system design and a classic desktop based on XFCE, the distribution offers a fully Russified interface and user-friendly applications. The company has issued a license agreement that allows both individuals and legal entities to use the system without any restrictions, although the right to distribute the distribution is not transferred. Simply Linux 10.2 is available in various architectures including X86_64, i586, Aarch64, Armh (ARMV7A), RISC-V, and E2KV4/E2K.
The main updates and improvements in Simply Linux 10.2 include:
- The user environment of XFCE has been updated to version 4.18.
- Updated versions of the Linux kernel: 10.10.198 and 6.1.57 (10.10.198 and 6.1.0 for AARCH64).
- System components have been updated to Systemd 249.16 and NetworkManager 1.40.18.
- New versions of applications have been added, such as Libreoffice Office 7.5.7.1, Chromium 117, and Firefox 102.12.0 browsers (specifically for I586 systems), Wine 8.14.1 (a layer for launching WINDOS programs), InkScape vector graphics editor 1.2.2, Postal Client Thunderbird 102.11, Audacious 4.3 music player, Pidgin reporting program 2.14.12, and VLC 3.0.18 video player.
