The Russian Ministry of Emergencies has officially responded to a request from Vice-Spiker of the State Duma, Vladislav Davankov, regarding the possibility of creating a special number for notifying authorities about drones. According to a report by “Kommersant,” the department has stated that the Russian government has agreed with the proposal and will amend the list of emergency services to include a dedicated number that will be available for communication around the clock and free of charge.
Vladislav Davankov has explained that Russians who observe a flying drone will be able to dial the number 112 or another short number to report its location. The information will then be transmitted to the appropriate power and operational services for a prompt response. The purpose of this initiative is to minimize the potential harm caused to people and critical infrastructure in the Russian Federation by drones.
As a result of this decision, departments responsible for responding to UAV flights will now be included in the list of emergency services. Calls made to report drones will be free of charge. By implementing this measure, the safety of citizens will be significantly enhanced as drones can be more effectively tracked,” stated the Vice-Speaker of the State Duma.
