US Naval Infantry Tests Missile-Equipped Robot

The US Navy Tests Tribute Robot Equipped with Educational Anti-Tank Missile System

The US naval infantry recently conducted tests on a tribute robot that is equipped with an educational version of the M72 anti-tank missile system. This demonstration reflects the increasing interest in arming four-legged unmanned ground systems.

The experiments took place in September at the Marine Corps base in California, with participation from representatives of the US Navy.

Based on the provided photographs and video materials, it is evident that the robot-bacon was developed using the Chinese commercial robot unitree GO1, which is available for purchase online, including on Amazon.

One of the notable features of this robot is its installation for launching the M72 missile, as well as its onboard GOPRO camera. The test video demonstrates the successful rocket launch from the robot, positioned securely between sandbags.

Lieutenant Aaron Safadi of the 1st US Corps stated that this system will enable Marines to remotely control weapons at a safe distance. This is particularly valuable for engaging armored targets in urban environments.

The testing carried out by the Marine Corps highlights the growing interest among militaries, including the United States, in embracing new technologies. Although the current form of the robot with the M72 may not be adopted, it is likely that such systems will find utility in the arsenals of various countries.
