Issue VirtualBox 7.0.12

Oracle has released the corrective update for its virtualization system, virtualbox 7.0.12, which includes 24 fixes. Additionally, an update has been issued for the previous version, virtualbox 6.1.48, with 9 changes, including support for Linux 6.5 and 6.6-RC kernels, support for Opensuse 15.5 core, improved support for Linux 6.4, and fixes for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) nuclei 8.9 and 9.3.

The main changes in virtualbox 7.0.12 include:

  • Support for Linux 6.5 kernel and Opensuse 15.5 core for guest systems based on Linux. Improvements were made for Linux 6.4 and RHEL 8.9 and 9.3 distributions.
  • Addition of information about the version when running “RCVBOXADDDS-CERNEL” and “RCVBOXADDDDS-User” commands for both host and guest systems based on Linux. Fixed errors related to the “Field-Spanning Write” warning core.
  • Included support for automated installation using Kickstart files in Oracle Linux 8 and 9.
  • Enabled determination of split locks on hosts running Linux using the Split Lock Detection mechanism in Intel CPUs.
  • Added new subtypes of Linux-based operating systems.
  • Solved issues in the virtual machine manager related to using debuggers in guest systems and fixed the detection of VT-X extensions used by other hypervisors.
  • General UI improvements, including fixing the display of hardware virtualization settings in the virtual machine detail panel.
  • Fixed the black screen issue when disabling 3D in Windows guest systems with multiple screens.
  • Established VLAN support for Virtio network interfaces and solved problems with PCI identification.
  • Fixed the loading of the preserved state issue when using TPM.
  • Resolved the problem preventing TCP connection with IP addresses ending in “.2”.
  • Improved implementation of the VRDP protocol.
  • Made improvements to the List USBFilters command in the Vboxmanage utility.
  • Emergency completion of the Guest Properties service under specific circumstances.
