GNOME Foundation Appoints Holly Million as Executive Director
The GNOME Foundation, the governing body responsible for the development of the GNOME user environment, is delighted to announce the appointment of Holly Million as its new Executive Director. This position had remained vacant since August last year following the departure of Neil McGovern. As the Executive Director, Million will be responsible for managing and developing the GNOME Foundation as an organization, as well as facilitating interactions with the board of directors, advisory council (Advisory Board), and members of the organization.
Holly Million brings extensive experience in managing non-profit organizations and is a versatile individual known for her diversity and enthusiasm. She has excelled in various roles, including producer of documentaries, writer, artist, and teacher. Throughout her career, Million has transitioned from a consultant to a development director in a non-profit organization, served as a member of the Board of Directors for various organizations, and held the position of Executive Director at the BIOBRICS Foundation, which focuses on open projects in the field of biotechnology. Furthermore, she is the founder of Artists United, an organization that brings together artists and art enthusiasts to promote the idea that many social problems can be addressed through art education[1].
