Firefox 119 Alters Session Restoration Behavior

Firefox Brings Exciting Changes in Upcoming Release

In the next issue of Firefox, it has been announced that some settings associated with restoring interrupted sessions after leaving the browser will undergo changes. Unlike in the past versions, information will not only be stored about active tabs, but also about recently closed tabs. This will allow users to restore randomly closed tabs after restarting Firefox, and view the list of closed tabs in Firefox View mode. By default, data on the last 25 tabs open in the last 7 days will be saved. Furthermore, closed windows and the list of closed tabs in the context of all windows will also be considered, rather than just the current window. (source)

In addition, Firefox 119 will introduce an updated Firefox View page interface, making it easier to access previously visible content. The Firefox View page will now contain information about active tabs, recently viewed pages, closed tabs, and tabs from other devices. The future version will also provide information about all tabs open in any window, and the ability to view the browsing history sorted by date or site. (source)

For a certain percentage of users, Firefox will offer the option to import extensions from Chrome and browsers based on the Chromium engine. After activating the feature, users can go to the Data Import page in Preferences and select “Import Data.” A list of 71 extensions will be available for transfer, and if any of these extensions exist for both Chrome and Firefox, the Firefox version will be installed
