Dovecot 2.3.21 Servers: New Pop3 and IMAP4 Version

New Version of Dovecot 2.3.21 Released

A new version of Dovecot, the multi-platform high-disc edition Pop3/IMAP4 server, has been released. Dovecot 2.3.21
supports the protocols Pop3 and IMAP4REV1 with popular extensions, such as Sort, Thread, and IDLE, as well as
authentication and encryption mechanisms (SASL, Tls, scram). Dovecot is fully compatible with classic MBOX and MALDIR, using external
indices to increase productivity. Plugins can be used to expand functionality, such as quotas and ACL, which are available
through plugins. The project code can be found on GitHub
under the licenses LGPL and MIT.

Main Changes in Dovecot 2.3.21

  • Lib-Outh2: A test of JWT tokens with the absent field “TYP” is now allowed. The TYP field is not used by some key issuers to save space, such as Kubernetes. The absence of “TYP” is allowed, but if it is present, it should still be “jWt”.
  • Auth: Auth response from Passdb and Userdb may contain the value “event_ = value”, which will be added to the entrance event to the system and event of the postal user, respectively.
  • Lib-Master: Sets the process title at various stages of initialization to explain what the process awaits.
  • Lib-Storage: The Mail_TEMP_SCAN_INTERVAL interval is now increased by 0…30% depending on the Hesh name of the user to reduce the likelihood of loading.
  • Lib-Storage: Scanning the temporary file is now postponed from the moment the mailbox is opened to the time of its closure to reduce the delay felt by users.
  • Stats: If metrics are indicated, then all these fields are exported in the form of Prometheus meters in exposition format.
  • “*-login”: Processes could be emergency to end with an inaccurate rupture of the SSL connection.
