Codeweavevers released a new version of the package crossover 23.5, which is based on the Wine code and designed to run programs and games originally developed for the Windows platform. Codeweavers, a key contributor to the Wine project, actively sponsors its development and contributes all the innovations implemented for its commercial products back to the project. The initial texts of the open components of Crossover 23.0 can be downloaded from this page.
In the new version, which continues to be based on Wine 8.0.1, VKD3D 1.8, and DXVK 1.10.3, there have been several improvements. These include enhanced compatibility with DEBIAN 13, Opensuse 15.1, and Ubuntu 23.10. For macOS platforms, compatibility with macOS 14 “Sonoma” has been provided. Additionally, support for GStreamer and the streaming layer from the Game Porting Toolkit has been implemented. Users can now configure the use of D3DMetal instead of DXVK. Issues related to launching games protected by Denuvo have been resolved, and support for the game Baldur’s Gate 3 has been added. Quality and performance improvements have been made for popular games such as Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk 2077, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, Mortal Kombat 1, Deep Rock Galactic, Satisfactory, Monster Hunter Ride, God of War, and Batman: Arkham Knight.
