Hackers Exploit GPU to Steal Passwords

Graphic processors (GPU) from the six largest manufacturers are vulnerable to a new method of browser attacks that can result in data theft, according to an unfolded article by researchers. When attacked websites contain specific content, they can gain access to user names, passwords, and other sensitive information that is displayed on other websites.

This new type of attack undermines the principle of security known as the “rule of domain restrictions”. The rule of domain restrictions plays a crucial role in protecting against intersight attacks, such as intersyight scripting (XSS) or intersyate falsification of requests (CSRF).
