Amazon and Anthropic, the developer of the Claude chatbot, have announced a strategic cooperation to accelerate the development and spread of safe generative artificial intelligence among AWS customers. The announcement can be found here.
As part of the collaboration, Anthropic will utilize the AWS Trainium and Inferentia chips to create its future AI models, while AWS will become the primary cloud provider for Anthropic. This partnership also involves Amazon investing up to $4 billion in Anthropic and acquiring a minority share in the company.
AWS customers will now have access to Anthropic models through the Amazon Bedrock cloud service, which will greatly facilitate the development of generative AI applications. This collaboration underscores the shared commitment of the companies to promote the responsible use of AI technology on a global scale.
In April, Amazon Web Services (AWS) introduced the Bedrock API platform, which will host generative models developed by leading startups such as AI21 Labs, Anthropic, and Stability AI within Amazon’s cloud services.
Clients who currently utilize Anthropic models through Amazon Bedrock are able to create applications based on generative AI. These applications assist in automating tasks such as market forecasting, research report development, drug discovery in healthcare, and personalizing educational programs.
