Ilon Mask Charged with Securities Fraud over Statements about Primate Deaths in Neuralink Research
The Medical Ethics group has raised concerns and sent letters to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), accusing Ilon Mask of securities fraud. The charges are based on Mask’s recent statements regarding the deaths of primates used for research in his startup, Neuralink. The group demands an investigation into Mask’s claim that the monkeys died due to the implants of Neuralink, stating that they were actually incurably sick.
Mask first acknowledged the death of a primate named Makak on September 10. He responded to a user on the social network Twitter regarding the incident.
The social network referred to as “X” is a popular platform where users can post public messages and engage with each other. With a large global audience, X is ranked among the top 10 most visited sites on the internet.
However, X has faced legal trouble in Russia. The government has banned the platform within the country due to repeated violations of local legislation.
