Throwflame, a flamethrower manufacturing company, has introduced a new radical invention to the market – a robot flamethrower. The four-legged robot, hilariously called “Terminator”, is equipped with an ARC1 flamethrower on its back. The “Terminator” has the ability to produce a stream of burning fuel to a distance of almost 10 meters and can operate for up to 45 minutes with maximum battery load.
Interestingly, Throwflame does not present its innovation as a weapon but instead as a device for the agrarian sector, melting snow and combating pests. Throwflame claims that their new product is not a weapon and is not intended to cause harm.
The basis for their “Terminator” model is the Unitree GO1 robot-PSA model, which is equipped with multiple cameras and sensors for autonomous navigation in the surrounding space without the need for wireless control. The ARC flamethrower has four rails for attaching to various surfaces, including a tripod, a rifle, and, of course, a robot. Additionally, a variety of accessories such as an additional fuel tank, wireless remote controls, and pressure sensors can be attached to it.
The “Terminator”, when fitted with the ARC flamethrower, increases from its basic weight of 11.8 kg to about 27.2 kg, which can affect the duration of its work before battery replacement.
Currently, the “Terminator” is not available for direct purchase, but interested parties can subscribe to updates on the Throwflame website. The product is scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2023.
Throwflame’s “Terminator” is an impressive product but raises concerns about the potential harm it can cause, and its intended use in the agrarian sector seems questionable. The release of this product requires a thorough evaluation of its potential impact on society.
If you thought the flamethrower from the Boring Company was extreme, that’s nothing compared to the “Terminator”.
