Inkbox OS 2.0 now supports KOBO and Kindle distribution

Inkbox OS 2.0, a new operating system designed to replace the standard firmware of Kobo and Kindle electronic books, has been released. The system components are based on the Alpine Linux 3.10 distribution, while the user environment is built on the Inkbox shell, which offers an interface for reading e-books and managing a home library. The user interface has been optimized for electronic paper-based screens, making it easy on the eyes. The shell code is written in C++ using the QT and subject under the GPLV3 license.

One of the most significant features of Inkbox OS is the integrated interface for launching programs, known as the Kobox Launcher. This feature allows users to access different programs through the operating system’s interface seamlessly.

Inkbox OS 2.0 was first presented to the public at this Reddit post. The open-source OS has already received significant attention from the Linux community. To learn more about the Inkbox OS or download it, visit the project’s website.
