WhatsApp Launches New Security Features
Instant messaging app WhatsApp has launched two new security functions designed to give users more control over their communication and protect them from unwanted calls and messages. The first feature, “Disconnecting sound for unknown numbers,” allows users to automatically filter spam and ignore unwanted calls from unfamiliar numbers, without missing important ones. For such calls, the sound will be disconnected, but users can still check the “Calls” tab to see if there are any important ones.
The second feature, “Confidentiality Verification,” helps users understand what protection methods are in place on WhatsApp. It enables users to get acquainted with all safety settings in the messenger and choose the right level of protection for their data. To use this function, users simply need to click “Start check” in the confidentiality settings. The audit consists of several stages in which users can choose the necessary level of protection for messages, calls, and personal information.
Both new functions are already available to all WhatsApp users on all platforms. Previously, WhatsApp announced a function that allows users to edit sent messages within 15 minutes after they are sent. With these new features, WhatsApp is enhancing its security and privacy features to ensure that users have more control over their communication and data protection.
