Experimental release of open implementation Winapi – Wine 8.10, which was announced at https://www.winehq.org/announce/8.10, has been released. Since the release of version 8.9, 13 errors were fixed, and 271 changes were made.
The update includes some important changes. Firstly, the system call interface is used to broadcast all appeals from the PE-files in the Unix-library. Secondly, the support for restrictions on mouse cursor movement in a given area on the screen has been improved. Additionally, support for virtual memory aggregates has been added. Finally, the files with locality and the database of time zones have been updated.
The new release has closed some errors related to certain applications. Specifically, the errors of MSN Messenger Live 2009, Lync 2010, Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, QUICKEN 201X, UTORENT 2.2.0, Creo Elements/Direct Express 4.0/6.0, Honeygain and PMXeditor 0.2.7.5 have been fixed. Also, errors related to the game Animated Puzzles have been resolved.
Wine 8.10 is an open implementation of the Windows API, which allows running Windows applications on other operating systems such as Unix-based ones. The new experimental release has expanded the capabilities of Wine, making it a more practical and user-friendly solution for running Windows applications.
