US law enforcement agencies have arrested a resident of New York on March 15, identified as Pimpupurin, the owner of the Khaker Forum Breachforums. The arrest was made in connection to the conspiracy to the sale of unauthorized execution devices, according to a document from the government. The defendant admitted to being Connor Brian Fitzpatrick, and owning the Breachforums Cybercrowned Forum. According to FBI employees, Fitzpatrick was arrested after they obtained evidence that led them to believe he was Pimpupurin.
On March 16, Fitzpatrick was released on bail in the amount of $300,000, but is required to appear in the Eastern District of Virginia on March 24. He is required to follow certain protocols, including surrendering his travel documents, permission to move only within the southern and eastern districts of New York and the Eastern District of Virginia, and avoiding contact with witnesses or accomplices who have reported.
According to an administrator of BreachForums, the site will continue to function normally despite the situation with Pimpupurin. The rest of the administrators, as well as its owner, have full access to the site infrastructure.
Pimpupurin has been a famous player in Cybercrown underground, known for hacking companies and drain and sale of stolen data through forums and social media platforms. He was also a well-known participant in the RAIDFORUMS cybercrower forum captured by the FBI in 2022. After the deactivation of Raidforums, Fitzpatrick created the Breachforums portal, which quickly became the largest data forum for data leakage. The portal is used actively by hackers and extortion gangs for draining and selling stolen data. Only in March, the news reported that one of the largest German banks had experienced a data breach, and a massive 160-gigabyte leak of internal information from Acer took place.
Despite speculation that Fitzpatrick may cooperate with the investigation, it is unlikely he will get a lenient sentence. His list of crimes is extensive, and all evidence is stored on the aforementioned hacker forums.
