Huntress has recently prepared detailed report relating to the problems of cybersecurity of average (250-2000 employees) of US and Canada. Here are the main statistics from this report, but each of the points we will consider in more detail below.
- 99% of all enterprises in the United States and Canada, faced with the problems of cybersecurity – precisely medium -sized enterprises.
- 49% of average enterprises plan to increase the budget for cybersecurity in 2023.
- Over the past year, 24% of medium -sized enterprises have been subjected to cyberataka or are not sure of this.
- 61% of medium -sized enterprises do not have cybersecurity specialists in their staff.
- 47% of medium -sized enterprises do not have a response plan to cyberincents.
- 27% of average enterprises reported the absence of insurance coverage in the field of cybersecurity.
A medium -sized companies are increasingly aware of the need for multi -level cybersecurity strategies. However, more than used tools do not necessarily mean better protection.
Huntress research showed that most of the companies surveyed never deployed threat monitoring, did not detect and respond to the threats of the end points, did not scan and correct intra -set vulnerability, etc.
The most alarming is that 47 % of respondents reported that their organization has not at present has a plan of response to incidents. This puts such companies in an extremely disadvantage in terms of quick and effective struggle against security incidents when they occur.
In addition to the lack of necessary solutions to ensure security, medium -sized enterprises also experience difficulties with the introduction of basic training measures and hiring the necessary personnel. 61% of respondents reported that there are no qualified cybersecurity specialists in their organizations, and only 9% of respondents believe that their company employees adhere to advanced security methods.
Of course, the problems of cybersecurity are characteristic of enterprises of any size, however, it is medium -sized companies that often experience the budget and resources, which greatly complicates the effective set and retention of highly qualified employees.
Medium -sized organizations also often encounter problems of providing cyber insurance. While the demand for cyber insurance is growing, it is becoming increasingly difficult to provide, because the basic principles of such insurance have not been observed properly recently. Almost 30% of respondents reported the absence of cyber inspection in their company, which emphasizes the urgent need to strengthen the “cybergigia” employees in order to prevent favorable conditions for a hacker attack.
