Huawei has replaced over 13,000 components in its products due to US sanctions, according to the head of the company, Jen Zhenti. This was revealed in a speech by Zhengfei, which was published by Shanghai University Jao Tong and reported by Reuters.
Over the last three years, Huawei has redesigned 4,000 printed circuit boards in response to the sanctions. Despite the difficulties caused by the sanctions, Zhengfei said that last year the company invested $24 billion in research and development, and that this amount will continue to grow in the future. He also noted that production has now stabilized.
The sanctions were imposed in 2019 by the US Ministry of Education, which accused Huawei of activities that contradict US national security interests. As a result, US companies are prohibited from exporting high-tech products to Huawei without a special license.
