Having made our rich scientific potential and production capabilities, Russia and China can become world leaders in the field of information technology, network security, artificial intelligence.”
Both leaders also emphasized the importance of formulating new national codes of conduct in the information cyberspace, particularly establishing universal international legal tools.
A joint statement of the two states was issued by both Russian and Chinese, which included numerous points aimed at deepening partnerships and strategic interaction between the two countries. The statement proposed strengthening the mutually beneficial cooperation in scientific and technical innovations, introducing the results of scientific and technical developments, and focusing on conducting joint fundamental and applied research in advanced areas of science and technology.
The statement also proposed new models of cooperation in technological and industrial fields such as artificial intelligence, the internet of things, fifth-generation communication networks, etc.
Furthermore, both parties supported the creation of a multilateral equal and transparent global internet management system that ensures the sovereignty and security of all countries in this area.
The progress of this joint cooperation will have positive results over a few years, and it is hoped that Russia will not adopt China’s experience of imposing restrictions on the internet space, that would limit the citizen’s rights and freedoms.
