New manager takes over Breachforums after Pompupurin’s arrest

Founder and owner of Breachforums, Conor Brian Fitzpatrice, was recently arrested on charges of selling unauthorized access devices. Fitzpatrice, who went by the nickname Pompompurin on the hacker site, had many users questioning the fate of the heavily-used platform.

However, an administrator known as “Baphomet” has since taken over all powers from Pompompurin and vowed to protect the site’s users from any potential FBI intervention. Baphomet has limited Pompomurin’s access to the forum infrastructure, ensuring the safety of the site’s participants.

In a message on Breachforums, Baphomet confirmed that he is now responsible for the forum and possesses all necessary access and powers. The website is currently unavailable, but Baphomet has promised to transfer the forum to a new infrastructure and continue its operation.

The FBI claimed that Fitzpatrice admitted to being Pompompurin and the owner of Breachforums. However, it is unclear if he confessed willingly or if someone coerced him to do so. Fitzpatrice will face trial on March 24th in federal court in Virginia.

Despite its association with illegal activity and questionable motives, Breachforums has become a top destination for cybercriminals looking to buy and sell stolen data. Prior to its takedown, it rivaled the once-popular Raidforums as a go-to source for leaked information.
