Tails 5.11 Release: An Anonymous Live System for Network Exit
A specialized distribution Tails 5.11, based on the Debian package, has been released for anonymous exit to the network. Tails, also known as The Amnesic Incognito Live System, is equipped with the Tor system that blocks all connections except for traffic via the Tor network. The release ISO-image is capable of working in Live-mode and is 1.2 GB in size. Data encryption is used for storing user data in the mode of conservation of user data between the launches.
The latest version of Tails includes support for the pumping (SWAP) in the ZRAM block device, which compresses data storage in the RAM, allowing users to keep more applications launched and smoothly decelerate its work before hanging. Tails also permits the creation of screenshots using the standard Gnome capabilities. Updated versions of Tor Browser 12.0.4 and Thunderbird 102.9.0 are included, as well as synchronization with the code base Firefox 102.9 ESR, in which ten vulnerabilities have been eliminated. The version of the addition Noscript 11.4.18 has also been updated, and Network.http.referr.hideionSource is now enabled.
Tails aims to safeguard users’ online privacy and security, offering them an anonymous live system experience that keeps their identities hidden from internet traffic.
