The developers of the KDE reported about the intention on February 28 to transfer the Master-Vit of User KDE Plasma shells to the QT 6 library. In connection with the translation for some time, individual problems and impaired work of some insignificant functions can be observed in the Master branch. The existing configurations of the KDESRC-Build assembly environment will be transferred to the assembly of the Plasma/5.27 branch, which uses QT5 (“Branch-Group KF5-QT5” in .kdesrc-buildrc). The release of KDE Plasma 5.27 desktop was the last in the KDE 5 series and after it began to form a KDE 6 branch, which was the key change in which was the transition to QT 6 and the delivery of the updated basic set of libraries and Runtime components of KDE Frameworks 6, which forms KDE software glass. KDE Plasma 6 release is expected in the fall of 2023. In the current form, out of 580 KDE projects, the ability to assemble QT 6 is still implemented in 362 projects.
