Counter-offensive, morale of the armies, Western support … On the occasion of the first anniversary of the Russian offensive, “MO12345lemonde” questioned five experts.
Interview by Jean-Philippe Lefief
A year after the start of the Russian “special military operation” in Ukraine, several scenarios on the future of this war are possible. Will we witness a “hard conflict”, a forced compromise or a “Russian collapse which would lead to a generalized rout”? Will the Western armored vehicles promised in the Ukrainian army allow “a new large-scale counter-offensive” or are we moving towards “a war of position with permanent artillery exchanges”? MO12345LEMONDE asked five experts how they envisaged the consequences of the conflict.
- Camille Grand: “The hypothesis of a conflict where no one is able to prevail is the most likely”
- Michel Goya: “The scenario of a political collapse in Russia is not to be ruled out”
- Jean-Sylvestre Mongrenier: “A Great War started”
- Jean-Claude Allard: “Towards a war of position with permanent artillery exchanges”
